Hi. This is Dr. Kadir Jun Ayhan, the Chief Executive Officer at Diplomacy Analytics LLC.
I am a mixed-methods researcher and policy analyst specializing in public diplomacy, including that of sub-state and non-state actors.
I have over 10 years of experience as a public diplomacy researcher and analyst. Most recently, I was an Associate Professor at Ewha Womans University’s Graduate School of International Studies, a prestigious university in Seoul, S. Korea.
I have published 3 edited volumes, 45 articles, including 26 in peer-reviewed journals. Majority of these publications are on evaluation in public diplomacy, people-to-people diplomacy, and the intersection of Korean foreign policy and public diplomacy.
I received awards such as the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award (which I opted to forego for personal reasons), the International Studies Association ICOMM Best Paper Award, and the Global Korea Scholarship.
I spent over ten years as a practitioner of people-to-people diplomacy within semi-academic nonprofits, serving as a bridge between Korea and other countries including Türkiye, United States, Germany, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgzstan, and Thailand among others.
In 2022 and 2023, I had the privilege of serving as a member of the Korean Presidential Transition Panel, and on a presidential special committee on immigration. Additionally, I was a member of the Korea Foundation Steering Advisory Committee for Empowerment of Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation between 2021 and 2023.
Dr. Kadir Jun Ayhan is receiving the 2024 International Studies Association ICOMM Best Paper Award.

I hold a Ph.D. and a Master’s in International Studies from Seoul National University, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, and International Trade from The University of Auckland.
I established Diplomacy Analytics LLC to offer my expertise and networks to clients in “the heart of global affairs,” Washington, D.C. area.
